Installation of 400mm HV Cabling from HV switch to Transformer, new LTAC to compound and 500mm Cables from LTAC to newly built Cranes j/box.
Install tray, 240mm and 185mm flex cables from j/box to collector rails including new crane isolator.
Tested HV circuits, insulation resistance, fault loop impedance, ducting and phase rotation.
Scope of works included temporary wiring to all site sheds, provision of temporary power to site and liaising with supply authorities and Telstra. The work commenced with the partial demolition of the existing police station and Core Maintenance Group supplied and installed all light fittings, security lighting, power points and power supply to all field equipment. “’As built” drawings were supplied to the Client.
Communications works include networks, CCTV and MARV. No Safety incidents recorded.
Commercial Construction. The contract provided for the refurbishment of 6 buildings, two with ocean views, housing 12 executive suites. It involved the removal of the existing services and the installation of a new lighting and power networks. The timeline was strict as compliance with the handover date and the timely completion of the defects was critical.
The project required top quality workmanship as we were installing very expensive fittings of the highest quality. Stage 1 was successfully completed on the 30th October and no defects were recorded.
Supply and Installation of high and low voltage (240mm and 400mm) cables connecting high voltage switches and transformer reactors to convertors. Core Group liaised directly with the project engineers, undertaking the rigging, positioning and securing of high value equipment without damage, using Nema 16 cable trays to safely install all HV and LV cables. These cables are terminated to bus bars, converter drives, and finally out to large DC motors.
Control and protection cabling was also installed, terminated and commissioned.
This project covered the supply of all materials and building 36 control panels to house the “pilz” safety system plc and wiring. It included receiving free issue items and drawings from the engineer via transmittals. It required us to submit as-built drawings. All Panel wiring and installation was performed at the premises of Core Maintenance Group at 5/61 Frankston Gardens Drive, Carrum Downs.
The contracts had fairly strict deadlines and Core electrical contrators successfully managed the projects to meet all completion dates.
Built on a Greenfield site - we installed various panels, distribution boards, supplies to control valves, lighting, power and associated field equipment. The scope of work also included Installing cable trays, HFT conduit for UV protection and security lighting poles. Due to the nature of the project, material safety data sheets highlighting the potential hazards associated with hydrochloric acid were required. Liaising and coordinating installation with the mechanical contractors was critical to successful timely completion.
Inclement weather delayed the progress, however Core Maintenance Group managed to complete all associated works in the timeframe.
Core Contracting assisted BlueScope steel in the planning of the project and upon completion, with the creation of commercial electrical maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures.
We also prepared isolations.
Rigging for lifting and placing transformer, reactors and panels.
Project management - Regular meetings with Bluescope Engineers and Representatives, including safety audits etc.
The project has required plenty of forward planning, weekly site meetings, regular review and updating of gantts and schedules. Core has remained on track with the schedule despite external influences such as down days, shutdowns and limited access to equipment certain areas and crane usage having delayed the progress on site.
Bluescope Steel have contracted Core Contracting Group to prepare a detailed plan of down days, shutdowns and projects and provide a detailed scope of works for future capital projects. This includes budget pricing for future capital projects and supervision of up to 25 personnel on projects and down days.
The above encompasses work across all departments of the the Bluescope Steel site.
